U.S. police, in collaboration with the FBI, thwarted an attempted attack on the Israeli consulate in New York on Friday.

Israeli Consul General in New York, Ofir Akunis, stated, "The State of Israel greatly appreciates the immediate response and cooperation by U.S. security agencies in foiling the attempted attack on our consulate today.

The Times of Israel reported that the suspect in custody was a supporter of terrorist organizations, including ISIS.

The newspaper noted that the suspect lived in Virginia and was arrested by the FBI.

These developments come amid escalating regional and international tensions, raising concerns about broader security implications.
