During his speech at the Arab House, Al-Sudani pointed out that the relationship between Iraq and Spain is witnessing significant development, starting from the visit of the Spanish Prime Minister to Baghdad at the end of last year, followed by reciprocal visits from ministers and officials. He confirmed the government's efforts to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with the Spanish side.

He renewed his praise for the noble stance of the Spanish government regarding the aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, noting that this position stems from a belief in human rights and international law. He explained that Iraq adopts a clear vision in international politics, with its regional relations based on productive partnerships, intertwined interests, and everything that enhances security, stability, and fruitful exchange with brotherly and friendly countries.

The Prime Minister touched on the unprecedented developmental movement that Iraq is witnessing, the development of various economic sectors, and the need for the expertise of Spanish companies known for their reliability and efficiency to contribute to the development of infrastructure, agriculture, water resources, renewable energy, education, industry, and other fields.

Regarding the Development Road Project, he stated that Iraq is planning with its brothers and friends in Turkey, the UAE, and Qatar to proceed with the project, which is open to all neighboring countries and the world. It is more than just a road for transporting goods; it is an international route that connects economic interests. The government also plans to play an important role with oil-producing countries in the matter of carbon bonds and global efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.
