The elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has chosen Linda McMahon, the former president of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), to take over the position of Secretary of Education.
Trump said in a statement: "McMahon is a fierce advocate for parental rights. We will bring education back to the United States, and Linda will lead this effort," according to Sky News.
McMahon served as the head of the Small Business Administration during Trump's first term from 2017 to 2019, and she ran twice for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut as a Republican but was unsuccessful.
McMahon served on the Connecticut State Board of Education for a year starting in 2009 and spent years on the Board of Trustees of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
