His Excellency President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at his residence in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, the Executive Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Fatih Birol, as part of his Excellency's meetings during his participation in the United Nations Climate Change Summit. (COP29).

His Excellency the President of the Republic emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Iraq and the International Agency in the field of peaceful energy use and supporting Iraq's efforts in this regard in various aspects to revive its economy and benefit from its resources in a sustainable manner.

The President emphasized the importance of continuing joint work and called on the organization to strengthen its collaboration with the relevant Iraqi authorities.

For his part, Mr. Fatih Birol expressed the International Energy Agency's support for Iraq's efforts, affirming the agency's eagerness to enhance cooperation and coordination with relevant Iraqi institutions and indicating his intention to visit to seriously follow up on this joint work.
