The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, met today in Riyadh with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on the sidelines of the joint Arab-Islamic summit hosted by the Kingdom to discuss the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have seen recent developments in several areas. They also reviewed the developments in the situation and positions and the worsening humanitarian conditions in the occupied territories and southern Lebanon. Both sides emphasized the necessity of coordinating positions and mobilizing efforts to stop the war and provide relief to the two brotherly peoples, the Palestinian and Lebanese. Mr. Al-Sudani appreciated the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold the summit that Iraq had previously called for.
The Prime Minister reiterated Iraq's steadfast and principled stance in supporting efforts aimed at preventing the expansion of the conflict in the region and that major countries and international and UN organizations should fully assume their legal and moral responsibilities to prevent the continuation of the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and to engage in international efforts to aid the afflicted and halt Zionist destruction efforts.
