The Arab Parliament called on Wednesday the elected U.S. President Donald Trump to correct the course of the U.S. position regarding the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi, said: "The elected U.S. President Donald Trump must correct the course of the U.S. position regarding the entity's ongoing aggression for more than a year against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Emphasizing that "the new American administration must take responsibility for alleviating the injustice and suffering of the Palestinian people by pressuring the entity and engaging in constructive cooperation with international community institutions, foremost among them the United Nations Security Council and influential countries; to implement the principles and rules of international law and international humanitarian law; and to stop the policy of double standards and hypocrisy.

Al-Yamahi emphasized that "the Middle East region suffers from numerous crises and conflicts, with innocent civilians bearing the brunt of the cost," stressing that "the United States, as a superpower and a pivotal state in the current global system, should play a positive role in implementing international legitimacy decisions and cooperate constructively with Arab countries to work towards establishing just peace, security, and stability in the region."
