The Fox News channel announced early Wednesday morning the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump in the presidential election, making it the only major American media outlet to do so, after predicting his victory in the key states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The Republican candidate Donald Trump achieved a historic milestone by winning the U.S. presidential race, becoming the 47th president of the United States after surpassing the 270-vote threshold in the Electoral College.

With Trump's victory, he became the first president to win non-consecutive terms in over 100 years.
