The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, announced during his reception today, Thursday, of U.S. Congressman Seth Moulton and the U.S. Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, that the "Zionist entity" has exceeded its bounds by insulting symbols and esteemed figures.
Al-Sudani added, according to a statement, that the Zionist media has overstepped by attacking the esteemed religious authority, Sayyid Al-Sistani, affirming that this act represents an insult to the feelings of Muslims worldwide, in addition to targeting civilians and destroying infrastructure in Gaza and Lebanon.
He also condemned the ongoing escalation and emphasized the necessity of intervention by major countries and international institutions and organizations to stop the aggression against Gaza and Lebanon and to put an end to the systematic killing and destruction by the occupation. He called for urgent action to end the war that threatens the security and stability of the region and the world.
During the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, along with the developments in the region following the joint announcement of the end of the international coalition to combat ISIS in Iraq and the steps taken to transition to bilateral relations in the security field and other areas.
