During the call, the prime minister affirmed Iraq’s commitment to protecting the embassies, diplomatic missions, and consulates operating on its territory, noting that this responsibility lies at the core of the duties of the Iraqi Armed Forces in all their formations and branches.
Al‑Sudani emphasized the importance of ensuring that Iraqi airspace, land, and waters are not used for any military action targeting neighboring countries or the region. He stressed that Iraq—across all its authorities, popular forces, political actors, and national institutions—remains committed to its principled stance of not entering into military conflicts, rejecting attempts to drag the country into ongoing disputes, and refusing any violation of its airspace by any party.
The call also included bilateral discussions on issues of mutual interest, as well as talks on resuming operations and reactivating the Iraqi oil export pipeline running through Turkish territory.
