The Yemeni presidency has announced the formation of a new government headed by Shaea Al‑Zindani, consisting of 34 ministers, including 10 from the previous government and 3 women. The Presidential Leadership Council approved the decision through a presidential decree.
On Friday, the Yemeni presidency confirmed the formation of the new government under Al‑Zindani, who will also serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to the official Yemeni News Agency Saba, the presidential decree was issued based on a proposal by the prime minister and the approval of the Presidential Leadership Council, in accordance with the supreme national interest.
The new cabinet includes female representation, which had been absent from the previous government led by Salem bin Buraik, who submitted his resignation.
According to Saba, the decision comes just days after Al‑Zindani was tasked with forming the government, based on the Prime Minister’s proposal and the approval of the Presidential Leadership Council, and in line with the constitution and the references of the transitional phase, foremost among them the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative and its implementation mechanism.
