U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that Israel would lose all support from Washington if it proceeded with annexing the West Bank, explaining that this commitment was a key factor in preventing annexation during his presidency.
In an interview with Time magazine, Trump stated, “Annexation of the West Bank will not happen,” noting that he had “promised Arab countries not to allow any such move.”
Speaking about the situation in Gaza, Trump stressed that “Hamas will face annihilation if it does not comply with the Gaza agreement,” adding that he was “not joking about this,” as he put it.
He claimed that “the problems of Gaza and Iran are over,” and that the time had come to finalize deals in the region—referring to political and economic initiatives following the recent ceasefire.
Trump also said the U.S. had completed what he called “the great hostage deal,” describing it as a remarkable agreement that resulted in the return of all hostages.
He added that he had stopped Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from continuing military action, noting that Netanyahu “had to listen to me because the world was against him at that time.”
