Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Tuesday that his country cannot negotiate with those who aim to impose dominance over Iran. His remarks came as he departed for the United States, a trip many view as an opportunity for potential dialogue.
Speaking before leaving Tehran to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Pezeshkian stated:
“If we are human beings who seek truth and justice, there should be no conflict between nations. But it is impossible to speak or negotiate with those who operate through the logic of supremacy and domination.”
He described the UN General Assembly as
“A very important opportunity to hear the voices of other world leaders and to present Iran’s positions.”
On the situation in Gaza, the Iranian president emphasized:
“Some countries are exterminating human beings in a brutal manner. It is horrifying to see children dying in Gaza due to the lack of medicine and food.”
He added:
“Israel bombards Gaza daily, while countries that claim to be civilized and democratic continue to support and arm it. It is illogical for the right to security to be exclusive to Israel alone; the security of all peoples must be protected.”
Pezeshkian’s statements come as attention turns to his anticipated speech at the General Assembly, where he is expected to focus on the Palestinian issue, sanctions, and international relations amid rising regional tensions.
