On Sunday, the emergency Arab-Islamic summit convened to address the recent Israeli attack on the State of Qatar. The summit opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Prior to the start of the summit, commemorative photos were taken with a wide array of Arab and Islamic leaders and heads of state in attendance—over fifty leaders in total—including Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, who arrived in Doha earlier today.

This summit comes just days after the Israeli strike on the Qatari capital, which targeted senior figures of the Hamas movement.

Reports indicated that the summit’s proceedings began approximately half an hour later than originally scheduled.
