More than 120 people lost their lives... A moment of silence in Nineveh to mourn the victims of the Hamdaniya Tragedy on its first anniversary.

On Thursday, Nineveh province commemorated the "Hamdaniya Tragedy," which resulted in the loss of more than 120 lives due to a fire that broke out in a wedding hall.

According to a reporter, government institutions in Nineveh observed a moment of silence for the souls of the victims of the Hamdaniya fire.

Nineveh Governor Abd al-Qadir al-Dukhail had directed on Wednesday to hold a moment of silence on Thursday in memory of the tragedy at the wedding hall in Hamdaniya district.

Despite the formation of governmental and parliamentary committees to investigate the Hamdaniya tragedy, no accountability for those responsible has been achieved thus far.

It is worth noting that on September 26, 2023, a fire broke out inside a wedding hall in Hamdaniya, east of Mosul, the center of Nineveh province.
