The Communications and Media Commission announced today, Wednesday, the preparation of a training and development program that aims to create job opportunities for youth in coordination with the global company "Apple." The commission also indicated that it would provide the necessary technical and legal support and studies to improve the business environment and build the digital economy in Iraq. It confirmed the establishment of a roadmap for building a long-term strategic relationship with Apple.
Ali Moyad, the head of the commission, stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the commission has initiated dialogue and opened avenues for strategic cooperation for about a year and a half. During this period, a number of meetings and discussions took place to exchange insights and perspectives, leading to the establishment of a roadmap for building a long-term strategic relationship with Apple, one of the major global companies." This effort resulted in a visit from a high-level government delegation responsible for Iraq's affairs as a first step toward implementation.
He confirmed that "the first step was blessed by the Prime Minister, who expressed his support and directives to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing major companies to become true strategic partners with the state in developing services, creating job opportunities, building capacities, and transferring knowledge and expertise."
He added that "the commission, in coordination with Apple, is working on preparing and developing a training program that will create job opportunities for youth, as well as transferring global expertise and providing the necessary technical and legal support and studies to improve the business environment and build the digital economy in Iraq."
Earlier, Prime Minister Mohamed Shia' al-Sudani affirmed during a meeting with a delegation from Apple, attended by the head of the Communications and Media Commission, that Iraq is witnessing transformations in the digital reality.
The company's delegation proposed working to develop the capabilities of youth and focusing on developers in the technology fields in cooperation with universities, as well as registering the phones that enter Iraq to make them competitively priced. They highlighted the importance of the company's phone products, as they support the digital transformations related to the economy and finance.
