Parents of sick students renewed their appeal to the Iraqi Ministry of Education for the urgent reinstatement of the "enrollment" system as the new school year approaches.
They explained that their children are undergoing organ transplants or suffer from chronic illnesses that put them at risk of serious complications if exposed to infections.
Parents emphasized the importance of reinstating the enrollment system as a way to accommodate the special health circumstances of "sick and special needs" students, aiming to alleviate their annual struggles with current procedures. They urged the ministry to issue clear decisions and guidelines to avoid the need for repeated visits, as has happened every year.
They called on the Minister of Education and the Ministry’s advisory board to establish specific decisions before the school year starts, in order to safeguard their children's future, especially for those who are ill. They stressed that their children require special care to ensure their safety, particularly given the current health conditions.
