Without any injuries reported Israel confirms that a ground-to-ground missile launched from Yemen has fallen in the central region of the country.

The Israeli military announced early on Sunday that a missile launched from Yemen fell in an "open area" in the central region of the country, confirming that no injuries were reported.

The military stated, "Following the alerts a short while ago in the central region of the country, it is confirmed that a ground-to-ground missile was launched from the east and fell in an open area without causing any injuries."

In a second statement released around 7 a.m. (04:00 GMT), it was noted that "the missile was launched from Yemen," and explained that "the explosions heard in recent minutes were due to interception missiles. The results of the interception operation are still under review."

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the missile launch, according to AFP.

Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and throughout central Israel early this Saturday, prompting residents to take cover, according to Reuters.
