Taekwondo Federation holds the fourth Korean Ambassador Cup Championship in Baghdad

The Iraqi Central Taekwondo Federation is preparing to hold the fourth edition of the Korean Ambassador's Cup for young men and women, in coordination with the Korean Embassy in Baghdad.

The Director of the Media Office of the Taekwondo Federation, Ahmed Al-Gharawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today, Thursday: "The championship will start on the twenty-sixth of next September and will continue for two days, and its fights will be held in the People's Hall in the capital, Baghdad," indicating that "the championship will be exclusive to the youth category and of both genders, and its goal is to discover new energies to support the national team that will represent Iraq in the upcoming international events."

Al-Gharawi added that "the championship will be open and not exclusive to clubs, meaning that all those who wish to participate, even foreigners from outside Iraq, can participate. It will witness high organization and a celebration preceding the start of the championship, as well as the attendance of the South Korean ambassador, members of the Olympic Committee, and a number of Taekwondo pioneers. Cash prizes have been allocated for the winners, as well as symbolic prizes for the participants." He pointed out that "the South Korean embassy is the biggest supporter of Taekwondo in Iraq, as it equips the federation with equipment, clothing, helmets, and protectors, in addition to financial support."
