Al‑Sudani calls for establishing a diplomatic coalition of regional states and the European Union to stop the war.

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al‑Sudani called, during a conference, for the creation of a diplomatic coalition that includes countries of the region and the European Union, aimed at the immediate cessation of the war. He stressed the need to stop violations of state sovereignty, out of concern for regional security and the principle of good‑neighborliness.

In his speech at the conference, he stated that the ongoing war in the region requires a unified and strong stance to stop it and to prioritize dialogue and cooperation to prevent the escalation of a situation that poses a grave threat to international peace and security.

Al‑Sudani emphasized rejecting war and aggression, as well as attempts to drag Iraq into the conflict. He explained that resorting to violence without international legitimacy and outside the framework of UN Security Council resolutions is a ready-made recipe for sliding into a major regional conflict.
