The U.S. Steps Into the Hormuz Crisis by Securing and Escorting Ships.

U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum confirmed on Saturday that the United States will step in to secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz by providing protection for ships and escorting them during passage.

Burgum stated that “the current rise in energy prices is a temporary turning point,” expressing his expectation that “prices will decline later on at the global level.”

He added that “the United States will work to provide protection for commercial vessels and escort them as they pass through the Strait of Hormuz, in a move aimed at ensuring safe navigation and restoring the flow of oil to global markets.”

He explained that “these measures will support the stability of global energy supplies and ease the pressures currently facing the markets.”
