Mohsen Rezaei, the military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, threatened to sink American ships in the Strait of Hormuz if the United States attempts to assert control over it. Rezaei added that any U.S. ground invasion would not intimidate Iran; rather, Iran might exploit it to seize thousands of hostages in exchange for enormous sums of money. He also declared his rejection of extending the ceasefire as long as Iran’s rights are not fully respected.
