The International Atomic Energy Agency: Iran has stored uranium underground.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealed that Iran has stored highly enriched uranium at an underground site and that its stockpile of enriched uranium as of 13 June 2025 is estimated at about 9,874.9 kg. The agency noted that it has been unable to access Iran’s nuclear facilities or obtain precise information about the sites or ongoing enrichment activities.

In its report, the IAEA stated that “Iran has not provided any report to the Agency regarding the status of its nuclear facilities that were attacked, nor the nuclear materials associated with them, and it has not allowed access to these sites. We cannot provide any information about the current size or location of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, or whether it has halted all enrichment operations.”

The agency added that “we do not know the exact location of the uranium enrichment facility Iran announced in Isfahan, nor whether it contains nuclear materials or is operational,” stressing the importance of allowing the agency to “carry out verification activities in Iran without further delay.”

The report also stated that “as of 13 June 2025, Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched up to 60% is still estimated at about 440.9 kg,” noting that “the Agency has not yet been granted access to any of Iran’s declared uranium enrichment facilities.”
