The Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives revealed 22 permanent parliamentary committees for the current legislative term, covering legal, financial, security, energy, and other sectors. The council also issued an order to form a temporary committee to amend the internal regulations, while an MP called for creating a specialized committee for e‑governance and digital transformation.

Earlier today, the Council of Representatives issued a parliamentary order forming a temporary committee of 19 MPs to amend the Council’s internal regulations (No. 1 of 2022), specifically regarding permanent parliamentary committees.

MP Muthanna Thaer Al‑Azzaoui from the Azm Alliance previously revealed that he had submitted a request to the Presidency of Parliament to establish a new committee dedicated to electronic governance and digital transformation, stressing the importance of having a specialized parliamentary body to unify legislative and oversight efforts in this vital field.
