U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced on Friday that President Donald Trump’s administration has ended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Yemen.
It is not yet clear how many Yemenis will be affected by this decision.
Temporary Protected Status is granted to people whose countries have experienced natural disasters, armed conflicts, or other extraordinary events. It allows migrants to obtain a work permit and temporary protection from deportation.
