The website Axios reported that the talks between the United States and Iran in Muscat have ended, with another round expected to follow. Iran’s IRNA news agency indicated that there is an understanding to resume negotiations, while ISNA stated that indirect talks are continuing through the Omani mediator.
The discussions revolve around the nuclear file, and the Iranian delegation had already begun its consultations with its Omani counterpart. The negotiations are expected to continue for several days, with senior officials from both sides participating.
For its part, Iran’s IRNA reported that “the round of Iranian–American talks in Muscat has ended, and assessments indicate there is an understanding to resume them.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s ISNA news agency clarified that “indirect negotiations with the United States and the exchange of messages continue through the Omani mediator,” noting that “the talks are not held in rounds; rather, the Omani foreign minister coordinates with both parties whenever needed.”
Official Iranian media suggested that the negotiations between Tehran and Washington in the Omani capital, Muscat, may continue for several days, pointing out that “the atmosphere in the talks is more serious than the previous round, and if we (Iran) reach a joint statement, it would be a step forward.”
