U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to halt bombing in Ukraine for one week. He also referred to the reopening of commercial airspace over Venezuela, along with facilitating travel for Americans there. Trump noted that Hamas had contributed to the return of hostages and must now hand over its weapons. He further stated that the U.S. economy is improving significantly, with inflation declining, highlighting the role of oil companies and tariffs in ensuring national security and boosting revenues.
On Thursday, Trump said that Putin had agreed to stop bombing Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for at least a week, after Trump personally requested it.
He added, “Hamas was a major contributor in returning all the hostages, and now we want Hamas to hand over its weapons—and it will do so.”
Regarding Venezuela, Trump said, “I just spoke with the president of Venezuela and informed her that we will fully reopen commercial airspace over the country. American citizens will very soon be able to travel to Venezuela safely.”
He expressed gratitude to Venezuela’s transitional leadership, describing relations as strong, and noted that major oil companies would begin exploration operations in Venezuelan regions. He emphasized that tariffs had helped secure billions of dollars, safeguard national security, and generate unprecedented revenues.
Trump asserted, “The U.S. economy is in excellent condition. We overcame the nightmare of inflation that occurred under Biden and achieved tremendous economic growth. We ensured strong national security thanks to tariffs, and we achieved record revenues through them.”
He continued: “We will work with both parties to avoid a government shutdown. I don’t believe the Democrats want a shutdown, so we will cooperate with both parties to pass the government budget.” He also claimed that “health insurance companies control the Democrats and are making billions of dollars by raising prices on Americans.”
