The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will not permit the use of the country’s airspace, territory, or waters for military actions against Iran, nor provide logistical support in this regard. The ministry stressed its commitment to dialogue, de-escalation, and respect for the sovereignty of states.
In a related development, Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority warned of a sensitive security period at the end of next week, while Hebrew media reported the cancellation of tourist flights to Israel due to regional tensions. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that a force is being directed toward Iran if it proceeds with executions of protesters.
On Monday, the UAE Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its full commitment to preventing the use of the country’s airspace, territory, or waters for any hostile military actions against Iran, and to withholding any logistical support in this context.
In its statement, the ministry reiterated “the UAE’s belief that promoting dialogue, reducing escalation, adherence to international law, and respect for state sovereignty represent the best foundations for addressing current crises.”
It emphasized the UAE’s approach of “resolving disputes through diplomatic means,” according to the WAM news agency.
Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority had sent a message on Sunday evening to foreign airlines, warning that the upcoming weekend—January 31 and February 1—could mark “the beginning of a more sensitive security period,” in reference to possible escalation in the region.
Additionally, Hebrew media reported last Friday that European travel companies canceled all flights to Israel and several regional countries due to heightened security tensions in the Middle East.
Earlier, President Donald Trump stated that “a large force is heading toward Iran,” stressing that he had “threatened Iran with a strong strike if it carried out executions of protesters.”
