Tehran Criticizes U.S. Interference and Affirms Ongoing Communication.

Iran has confirmed that it remains in contact with the United States through the American envoy and Swiss mediation. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson reiterated accusations against the U.S. and Israel of interfering in the protests, asserting that the demonstrations turned violent due to foreign involvement. Iran’s foreign minister emphasized the country’s readiness for either war or dialogue, provided that any negotiations are fair and balanced.

These statements follow U.S. President Donald Trump’s declaration that Iran is ready to negotiate, coupled with threats of military strikes should the crackdown on protests continue.

Earlier today, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is fully prepared for war but also open to dialogue. Speaking at a conference of foreign ambassadors in Tehran broadcast on state television, Araghchi said, “Tehran does not want war, but it is fully prepared for it. We are also ready for negotiations, but they must be fair and based on equal rights and mutual respect.”

These remarks came after President Trump revealed that Iran “wants to negotiate,” following his threats of military action if Iran continues suppressing protests. Trump has repeatedly warned of the military option “if the campaign of repression and killings by Iranian security forces against protesters continues.”

The Trump administration is expected to hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the security situation and available options.

Since December 28, Iran has witnessed a wave of widespread protests across various cities and regions, sparked by deteriorating economic and living conditions. However, authorities have stated that the situation is now fully under control.
