The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the Italian government's decision to revise its travel advisory for Italian citizens wishing to visit Iraq.
In a statement, the ministry said that Rome’s partial review of travel guidelines for its citizens intending to travel to the Republic of Iraq comes in light of the positive security developments witnessed in Iraqi cities.
The ministry emphasized that this decision reflects an objective assessment of the notable improvement in the security situation. It contributes to strengthening international confidence and supports prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism, economic, and cultural fields, while also encouraging visits and exchanges between the two friendly countries.
The ministry noted that this positive development follows the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to the Italian capital, Rome, which included constructive discussions with his Italian counterpart. These talks covered the full scope of bilateral relations and underscored the importance of enhancing joint cooperation, particularly in assessing security conditions and facilitating travel between the two nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to continuing work with international partners to promote stability and reinforce Iraq’s position as a safe destination for visitors.
