U.S. authorities issued immediate evacuation orders on Tuesday for three suburbs in Seattle, Washington, following the collapse of a dam after a week of heavy rainfall.
The evacuation order from King County covered homes and businesses east of the Green River in parts of Kent, Auburn, and Tukwila.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning affecting nearly 47,000 people.
The dam collapse came after a week of intense rain and flooding that inundated large areas, prompting authorities to evacuate tens of thousands of residents and conduct dozens of rescue operations across western Washington State.
