Sources told i24 News on Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. envoy Tom Barrack have reached understandings regarding Syria.
According to the sources, “Israel and the United States have agreed on continuing Israel’s desire to operate in Syria, as well as on the continuation of negotiations with Syria concerning a security agreement.”
One source stated, “Each side now understands what it needs to do.”
The channel reported that “During his meeting with Netanyahu, Barack outlined red lines regarding Israeli activity in Syria.”
A few days earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote in a post, “It is very important that Israel maintains a strong and genuine dialogue with Syria and that nothing happens to hinder Syria’s development into a prosperous state. Syria’s new president, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, is working hard to ensure good things happen and that Syria and Israel build a long-term and prosperous relationship together.”
