A senior U.S. official stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner—son-in-law of President Donald Trump—will meet with Ukrainian officials on Sunday in Florida.
This meeting follows the arrival of a Ukrainian delegation in the United States to continue negotiations on a potential agreement to end the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier announced that a delegation was an route to the U.S. for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the Élysée Palace announced on Saturday that French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with Zelensky in Paris on Monday. According to the statement, the two leaders will discuss the “conditions for a just and lasting peace,” following talks held in Geneva and the U.S.-led peace plan.
Zelensky’s last visit to Paris was on November 17.
Last week, Macron stated that France, along with other European Union countries, would finalize a solution to provide financial support to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets. He added that a task force would be formed, led by France and the United Kingdom, with close participation from Turkey and, for the first time, the United States, to establish security guarantees for Ukraine once a peace agreement is reached.
