The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, affirmed in a televised interview that the Iraqi judiciary will not allow any political or foreign entity to interfere in the selection of the next prime minister, stressing that the process must proceed strictly in accordance with the constitution and the law.
Zaidan explained that the exclusion of some candidates from the elections was not the result of political pressure but was carried out according to legal procedures, adding that the Federal Court will not delay in ratifying the results. He emphasized that no one is above the law, regardless of their position, reiterating the Iraqi judiciary’s commitment to protecting the integrity of the electoral process and safeguarding the constitution from any violation or transgression.
