Iraq ranks among the lowest in the Arab world and 86th globally in AI usage.

Iraq has ranked near the bottom among Arab countries and placed 86th globally out of 147 nations in the Artificial Intelligence Usage Index, according to the “AI Readiness Index” report issued by the Artificial Intelligence Economy Institute affiliated with Microsoft.

The report, reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, stated that “Iraq ranked 13th among Arab countries in the index measuring AI adoption among the working-age population, with a rate of 10.3%, making it the lowest in the Arab region.”

The report noted that “Iraq’s usage rate is low compared to its economic size, reflecting insufficient investment in digital transformation and technical education.”

Arab Rankings:

- UAE ranked first both regionally and globally with 59.4%.

- Qatar: 35.7%

- Jordan: 25.4%

- Lebanon: 24.8%

- Saudi Arabia: 23.7%

- Oman: 22.6%

- Kuwait: 17.7%

- Libya: 12.7%

- Egypt: 12.5%

- Tunisia: 12.3%

- Algeria: 11.3%

- Morocco: 10.5%

- Iraq: 10.3%

- Syria: 6.7%

- Eritrea: 6.4%

- Sudan: 6.4%

Global Rankings:

- UAE topped the global list with 59.4%.

- Followed by Singapore: 58.6%

- Norway: 45.3%

- Iceland: 41.7%

- France: 40.9%

- Cambodia came last with 4.6%.
