Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, stated on Monday that cooperation with Washington is not possible as long as it continues to support Israel in the region.
Speaking to thousands of students in Tehran on the anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. embassy, Khamenei said the embassy was a “conspiracy hub against the revolution,” and it’s inaccurate to claim that Iran’s problems with America began only on Aban 13 (November 4). He explained that the embassy takeover was merely a reaction to the events of that day.
He added, “The dispute between Iran and America is fundamental, not tactical, and strength is the solution,” noting that “America’s conspiracies against the Iranian people confirm the truth of Imam Khomeini’s words: ‘Shout at America with all your might.’”
Khamenei emphasized that “the only way to solve many problems and ensure the country’s protection is to be strong. Strength includes effective governance, science, military capabilities, and internal motivation. The government must carry out its affairs with strength.”
He concluded by saying, “Sometimes Americans claim they are ready to cooperate with Iran, but cooperation is impossible as long as they continue supporting Israel, maintaining military bases, and interfering in the region.”
