On Wednesday, the Central Bank of Iraq signed an agreement with the National Bank of Kuwait–Bahrain.
According to a statement from the Central Bank of Iraq:
"Under the patronage and in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Mohsen Al-Allaq, the Central Bank of Iraq signed a joint cooperation agreement with the National Bank of Kuwait–Bahrain. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Central Bank in Baghdad."
The statement added:
"Representing the National Bank of Kuwait–Bahrain was CEO Ali Fardan, accompanied by Deputy Head of Treasury Mohammed Momen and other delegation members. Signing on behalf of the Iraqi side was Dr. Mohammed Younis Abu Ragheef, Director General of Investments at the Central Bank of Iraq."
Governor Al-Allaq warmly welcomed the visiting delegation, recalling the deep ties between the people of Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain and wishing them continued success.
For his part, Fardan emphasized enhancing cooperation in financial transfers and electronic payments, as well as training on modern banking practices and statistical data exchange. He also extended an invitation to the governor to visit the National Bank's headquarters in Bahrain.
