Iraq’s national boxing team member, Abbas Haidar Fadhil, secured an important victory over his Qatari opponent, Fahad Al-Dosari, in the opening bout of the 60 kg weight category at the 3rd Asian Youth Games currently being held in Bahrain.
This win paved the way for Abbas to advance toward the final rounds and compete for medals, under close supervision from officials and members of the Iraqi delegation.
The Iraqi youth boxing team kicked off its participation in the third edition of the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain on Friday with a win over the UAE.
Iraqi boxer Zubair Saleh Othman also earned a well-deserved victory in the 80 kg category, defeating Emirati boxer Zayed Mohammed Musbah in the tournament’s opening matches.
