The Iraqi Ministry of Justice announced on Thursday that it had won 32 legal, arbitration, and recovery cases over the past three years—from 2023 to 2025—saving Iraq from paying more than $2 billion.
In a statement, the ministry clarified that the total recovered amount reached $2,599,885,345 USD, in addition to €40 million.
The statement added that these amounts were claimed by foreign entities and international companies in lawsuits filed against the Iraqi state before international courts and arbitration bodies.
