Reuters reported on Thursday, citing five informed sources, that the United States has dismissed several of its top diplomats involved in the Syrian file over the past few days.
According to the agency, the move comes as Washington seeks to integrate its Kurdish allies in Syria with the central administration in Damascus.
The sources stated that these diplomats were working within the "Syria Regional Platform," which serves as the de facto U.S. mission to the country and is based in Istanbul. They reported to Thomas Barrack, the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria and a close advisor to President Donald Trump.
