U.S. President Donald Trump held a positive and remarkable meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Saturday in New York, according to a NewsNation correspondent.
The meeting lasted two hours and covered several topics.
The correspondent, citing a well-informed source, added that the meeting between Trump and Al Thani spanned two hours and addressed multiple issues. Special envoy Steve Witkoff was also present.
The parties reportedly reached positive outcomes and discussed future steps.
This meeting followed a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized during a Friday meeting with U.S. officials that Qatar would take all necessary measures to protect its security and preserve its sovereignty in response to the recent Israeli attack targeting Hamas leaders in Doha.
The ministry’s statement also noted that Sheikh Mohammed met with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Friday.
