Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced on Monday that his country is taking nine measures to stop what he called the “genocide in Gaza.”
In a press conference, Sánchez stated that Spain has decided to ban the export of weapons to Israel and prohibit ships carrying fuel for the Israeli army from passing through Spanish ports.
Spain also decided to:
- Ban all aircraft transporting defense materials to Israel from entering Spanish airspace.
- Prohibit entry into Spain for individuals directly involved in genocide and war crimes.
- Ban imports of products from illegal settlements in Gaza and the West Bank.
Additionally, Sánchez announced:
- A reduction in consular services for Spanish citizens living in illegal Israeli settlements.
- Increased support for the Palestinian Authority.
- A boost in Spain’s contribution to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
- Expanded humanitarian aid and cooperation for Gaza.
Sánchez added in the press conference:
“Defending your homeland is one thing, but bombing hospitals and starving innocent children to death is something else entirely. What Israel is doing is the extermination of a defenseless people. It violates all humanitarian laws. We cannot stand idly by.”
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump issued what he called a “final warning” to Hamas on Sunday, demanding the release of all hostages.
