President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received a written message from the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which included an invitation to attend the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
This took place during his meeting on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Baghdad Palace with the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Samir.
President Rashid expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the kind invitation, conveying his greetings to President El-Sisi and his best wishes to the brotherly Egyptian people for continued progress and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and deepening cooperation across various fields to serve their mutual interests.
The president also highlighted the significant role Iraq and Egypt play in confronting regional challenges and their ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed Iraq’s supportive stance toward the Palestinian people in their pursuit of their legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent state. He stressed the need to end the aggression against Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador reiterated his country’s desire to strengthen bilateral ties, expand cooperation and investment opportunities, create jobs, and foster economic integration—contributing to sustainable development for the benefit of both the Iraqi and Egyptian peoples.
