U.S. President Donald Trump plans to reduce the 50-day deadline initially set for reaching a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters in Scotland ahead of his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said, "I’m about to shorten the 50-day timeline to fewer days, because I believe I already know the answer and what’s going to happen.
On July 14, 2025, Trump announced a 50-day deadline for Moscow to reach a peace agreement with Kyiv, threatening to impose a 100% tariff on Russian goods if the deadline isn’t met.
Earlier, Trump also stated that he had reached an agreement with the European Union regarding arms supplies to Kyiv, noting that Europe would bear the full costs.
