Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that he had reached an agreement during a phone call with former U.S. President Donald Trump to "strengthen protection" of Ukraine’s airspace.
Zelensky stated via his Telegram channel, "We discussed options for air defense and agreed to work together to enhance the protection of our airspace," describing the conversation as "in-depth."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian presidential aide Andriy Yermak said the two presidents held a phone conversation, which he described on Telegram as “rich and highly significant.”
According to the website Axios, "Trump discussed air defense weapons and the escalation of Russian strikes on Ukraine with Zelensky."
It added that "Trump told Zelensky he wants to help by providing air defenses in response to the Russian attacks."
