U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has not communicated with Iran and has made no offers. He reiterated that the United States has "completely wiped out" Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, he hinted at the possibility of lifting sanctions if Iran demonstrates goodwill.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump added that Iran is not currently thinking about reviving its nuclear program, saying the country is “exhausted.” He noted Iran didn’t have the chance to move its uranium before U.S. strikes and claimed the recent conflict was costly for Iran, which, according to him, was only weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon.
Trump denied media reports suggesting his administration had considered offering Iran up to $30 billion to develop a civilian nuclear energy program.
Since June 13, unprecedented clashes between Iran and Israel have unfolded over 12 days, prompting U.S. military involvement. On Saturday, the U.S. conducted airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Iran responded by targeting military bases in Qatar and Iraq, though no casualties were reported. Hours later, Trump unexpectedly announced a ceasefire between the two sides.
