Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Friday that his country will not speak with anyone while Israeli strikes continue.
Speaking to state television, as reported by Shafaq News Agency, Araghchi said, “Iran is not ready to hold talks with any party while Israeli attacks persist.
He added, “Following Iran’s resistance to Israel, it is likely that some may distance themselves from this aggression.”
Araghchi continued, “The United States wants dialogue and has sent serious messages regarding this,” noting that “Tehran informed Washington that negotiations cannot happen while aggression continues and we are exercising legitimate self-defense.
He clarified that “Washington asked Iran to negotiate, and we refused, but we have no issue engaging in dialogue with other countries,” emphasizing, “Our defense against aggression will not stop, and there will be no talks with Washington because it is complicit in the crimes.
He also stated, “Our negotiations with European countries in Geneva are limited to the nuclear file and regional issues,” stressing that Iran will not negotiate with any party about its missile capabilities, which are strictly for national defense.
The Middle East is witnessing a dangerous military escalation, as Iran and Israel have been exchanging missile and drone strikes since early last Friday, continuing to the present.
Despite repeated calls from the international community to halt the conflict between the two sides, the missile strikes persist.
