On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iranian leaders to reach a new agreement to save what he described as the "Iranian empire," warning that the situation would worsen and become more severe.
In a series of social media posts, Trump wrote, "I have given Iran chance after chance to make a deal, and I told them in the strongest terms, 'Just do it.'" But no matter how hard they tried or how close they got, they couldn’t finalize the agreement. I told them that what awaits them will be far worse than anything they know, expect, or have been told. The United States builds the best and deadliest military equipment in the world—by far—and Israel has plenty of it, with more coming. They know how to use it."
He continued, "Some Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they had no idea what was about to happen. Now, they are all dead, and things will get worse. There has already been massive destruction and loss of life, but there is still time to end this massacre, especially with upcoming planned attacks that will be even harsher."
Trump emphasized, "Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left and save what was once known as the Iranian empire." He concluded with a direct appeal: "No more death, no more destruction. Just do it before it’s too late. May God bless you all."
