Khamenei: We Do Not Believe Negotiations with the U.S. Will Succeed.

On Tuesday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei dismissed the possibility of successful negotiations between Iran and the U.S. over its missile and nuclear programs.

Speaking to the press, Khamenei stated, "The Islamic Republic does not believe that the ongoing negotiations with the U.S. will yield positive results, and no one knows what will happen next."

He criticized restrictions on Iran’s uranium enrichment, calling them "excessively audacious," adding, "We are not waiting for anyone’s permission. The Islamic Republic has its own policies, its own approach, and it follows its own course."

Khamenei further remarked, "On another occasion, I will explain to the Iranian people why the focus is on enrichment and why Westerners, Americans, and others insist that Iran must not have uranium enrichment—so that Iranians understand the true intentions of the other side."
