U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he has decided to immediately stop launching airstrikes on Yemen.
In a press statement, Trump said, "The Houthis announced yesterday that they no longer want to fight. This is good news, so we will immediately halt airstrikes in Yemen."
He added, "I accept the Houthis' statement that they will stop their attacks, and we have decided to halt our bombing right away," emphasizing that "the Houthis no longer want to fight."
Trump also stated, "We will have a very significant announcement before our visit to the Middle East."
