White House: Negotiations with Iran on Saturday Will Be Direct—Either Tehran Accepts Demand of Trump or Faces Severe Consequences.

White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt announced that the United States will hold direct talks with Iran today, Saturday, in Oman, aimed at preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In a routine press briefing, Levitt emphasized, "The negotiations with the Iranians will be direct, and I want to make that absolutely clear," noting that President Donald Trump's administration views direct dialogue as the best way to achieve U.S. security objectives in the region.

She added, "President Trump's primary goal is to ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon," explaining that the president believes in the importance of diplomacy and face-to-face negotiations to achieve this objective.

Levitt underscored Washington's firm stance, stating, "Either Iran agrees to President Trump's demand, or it will face severe consequences," affirming that all options remain on the table and that the final decision rests with Tehran.

This announcement comes amid escalating tensions in the region, alongside intense international diplomatic efforts to revive negotiations on Iran's nuclear program and ensure regional stability.

Both the Iranian and U.S. delegations are expected to arrive in Muscat, Oman, by late Saturday morning to begin indirect negotiations following a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi.

Meanwhile, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported sources stating that Iran will not tolerate the U.S. delegation's use of threatening language or any discussion of Iran's defense industries, asserting that "Iran will not accept crossing red lines."
